To all of our amazing guests, friends and local community members,

In this unprecedented time full of changes and a ‘new normal’, we hope all of our guests and friends are keeping well and staying safe. We hope you’ve been able to find joy and positives in the little things during lockdown. To anyone who has struggled during this time, all of us at the Ramblers Retreat send you all of our love and positive thoughts.

The Ramblers Retreat has welcomed visitors to Dimmingsdale with lovingly homemade food, cakes and drinks for nearly 40 years. We’ve really missed having you all around for the past few months. We wanted to update you all on how we’re ensuring the safe operating of the Ramblers Retreat Country Tea Room.

The safety of our team, guests, communities and family is our top priority; all decisions we’ve made are based on the information and advice provided by the UK Government. We haven’t rushed these decisions and are focusing on providing a service that we are confident keeps the level of risk at the absolute minimum. You can find an in-depth list of the measures we’ve put in place below.

Keeping our guests, team & family safe and healthy:

To help us keep risks to an absolute minimum at this unprecedented time, you’ll notice quite a few changes around the Ramblers Retreat. These include, but are not limited to:

  • Smaller team sizes, serving a reduced menu
  • Only accepting card payment (contactless encouraged)
  • Perspex screens covering our counters
  • Social distancing measures in place for customers and team members
  • An outdoor, one-way queuing system
  • Sanitiser stations for guests
  • Use of sustainable, disposable crockery and cutlery to reduce risk
  • PPE for all team members
  • Regular sanitising of all touch-points and surfaces
  • Investment in 24-hour barrier technology surface sanitiser for added protection for our guests and teams
  • Additional instructions and training for all team members on hygiene practices, including increased frequency of handwashing and extra sanitising of key areas within the Ramblers Retreat.

We pride ourselves on serving lovingly made food & drinks and, wherever possible, we buy our ingredients from local suppliers within Staffordshire & Derbyshire. Thank you for your support:

We’re so very pleased to be able to welcome our guests and local communities back with open (socially distanced) arms. We’d like to thank all of our guests and friends for being so supportive during these difficult times. When we do reopen, the Ramblers Retreat will be different. We will need time to adjust to smaller teams and additional health and safety measures, but we can guarantee the warm Ramblers welcome and service that has been at our core since opening our doors in 1981.

We kindly ask that you continue to be supportive of and patient with our amazing team members as we safely return and adjust to the new normal. We’ll always keep all of our guests updated through social media, our website and our email newsletter.
