In this unprecedented time full of changes and a ‘new normal’, we hope all of our guests and friends are keeping well and staying safe. We hope you’ve been able to find joy and positives in the little things during lockdown. To anyone who has struggled during this time, all of us at the Ramblers Retreat send you all of our love and positive thoughts.
The Ramblers Retreat has welcomed visitors to Dimmingsdale with lovingly homemade food, cakes and drinks for nearly 40 years. We’ve really missed having you all around for the past few months. We wanted to update you all on how we’re working towards the safe reopening of the Ramblers Retreat Country Tea Room and our proposed dates.
The safety of our team, guests, communities and family is our top priority; all decisions we’ve made are based on the information and advice provided by the UK Government. We haven’t rushed these decisions and are focusing on providing a service that we are confident keeps the level of risk at the absolute minimum. You can find an in-depth list of the measures we’ve put in place below.
Following the latest government update, we’ve decided to begin the phased reopening of the Ramblers Retreat, beginning with a takeaway only service.
From 11am Thursday 9th July, we’ll reopen our garden serving counter to allow you to enjoy takeaway drinks, ice creams, our famous homemade cakes and sandwiches in Dimmingsdale. We’ll also be offering picnic and afternoon tea packs to pre-order during weekends.
Our new opening hours will be 11:00am-3:00pm Thursday & Friday and 10:30am-3:30pm Saturday & Sunday, we’re currently closed Monday-Wednesday, however after a few weeks of getting used to the new normal, will be looking to extend these hours.
We’re so very pleased to be able to welcome our guests and local communities back with open (socially distanced) arms. We’d like to thank all of our guests and friends for being so supportive during these difficult times. When we do reopen, the Ramblers Retreat will be different. We will need time to adjust to smaller teams and additional health and safety measures, but we can guarantee the warm Ramblers welcome and service that has been at our core since opening our doors in 1981.
We kindly ask that you continue to be supportive of and patient with our amazing team members as we safely return and adjust to the new normal. We’ll always keep all of our guests updated through social media, our website and our email newsletter.
As we introduce takeaway only options to the Ramblers Retreat, we’ll be adding extra recycling and composting bins around the Ramblers Retreat, we’ll also be continuing with our regular voluntary litter picking of the valley, however, we kindly ask all of our visitors to follow the forest code by leaving nothing but footprints and taking nothing but photos to keep Dimmingsdale special for years to come.
