Volunteering in The Valley 2019- Himalayan Balsam

07 Jul 2019 | BY Callum

We’ll be out in Dimmingsdale on the 10th, 11th, 17th & 18th July as part of our conservation work in Dimmingsdale, running our annual community Himalayan Balsam pull volunteer days!

If you’ve got any free time; from half an hour to a full day, we’d really appreciate the help! We’ll all be working together to remove this invasive, non-native species from specified areas of our beautiful valley to allow native plants to flourish, our actions will also hopefully clear space for the development of Dimmingsdale’s amazing bluebells next spring as well as so many other benefits!

All of our amazing volunteers will be rewarded with a free cherry & sultana scone and coffee or tea to say thank you for their amazing work!

We’ll be meeting at 10am at the Forestry England Centenary Flag next to Dimmingsdale Car Park 1. Long trousers and sturdy shoes are essential. You’re guarenteed a warm friendly reception & working group!

This day is organised as part of our partnerships with Forestry England (National Forest Beat), Churnet Valley Living Landscape Partnership & Staffordshire Wildlife Trust.
